Educational activist, Michelle Rhee, the former chancellor of the Washington D.C. public schools, is back in the spotlight again promoting her new book called Radical. When I heard the title of this book, I thought it was rather fitting given Ms. Rhee’s background in education! In D.C., her style of shaking things up when it came to education reform seemed a bit too radical for some. I ordered the book today and look forward to learning more about her life story and her vision with improving our public school system here in America.
Below is an interesting article regarding her thoughts on school vouchers. Whether you agree or disagree with Ms. Rhee and what she stands for, she is a thought provoking individual. I have a great deal of respect for a woman who speaks her mind, whether popular or not, and the fact that she never waivers on the most important idea regarding education today–putting the children first!
