Report: DPS performance ‘unacceptable on all levels’ - The Denver Post, by Jeremy P. Meyer -6/15/09

Local education-related agencies released their report today on the many issues and challenges facing Denver’s Public Schools. From the dropout rate, to achievement and achievement gaps, and graduation rates the report finds that DPS student performance is low on a great many measures when compared to the districts goals, state averages, and similar districts throughout Colorado and the nation. The report also takes a look at reform efforts that are currently being used. Be sure to take a look at the Report: Denver’s Public Schools: Reforms, Challenges, and the Future to learn further about these troubling findings. Isn’t it time we take a stand and say that we want better for our children, our city, our state?
