Local education-related agencies released their report today on the many issues and challenges facing Denver’s Public Schools. From the dropout rate, to achievement and achievement gaps, and graduation rates the report finds that DPS student performance is low on a great many measures when compared to the districts goals, state averages, and similar districts throughout Colorado and the nation. The report also takes a look at reform efforts that are currently being used. Isn’t it time we take a stand and say that we want better for our children, our city, our state?

2010 DPS EARLY ED. SCOOP EVENTS!
For new parents, enrolling in preschool and kindergarten in Denver Public Schools can be confusing. At the Early Education Scoop, Enrollment Experts – including the moms behind ScoopToo – will be on hand to answer your questions! The event starts with a helpful overview from DPS Director of Early Education. Parents can then visit with Enrollment Experts who are well-versed in hot topics like tuition, transportation, the School of Choice process, special-needs programming, Advanced Kindergarten, English Language Acquisition and dual-language programming, Montessori programs and before- and after-school care.
Child care will be provided, but you must RSVP one week prior to the event if you plan to bring the kids.
