Thanks so much for this update on Park Hill Elementary. We hope to hear from more parents with updates on the schools we profiled thus far.

A couple of updates:

1) as of right now Park Hill Elementary has a new boiler system, and they’re in the process of installing a state-of-the-art fire suppression (sprinkler) system. Next spring (May 2011) construction will begin on a new “learning landscape” (playground, to the rest of us) to replace the “outdated” one.
2) In terms of specials, in addition to computer and music classes, Park Hill offers Art (in it’s own room) and PE to every student.
3) We now offer three full-day kindergarten classes, with half-day students integrated into the full-day classes.
4) Park Hill is one of 29 DPS schools that has launched “scratch cooking” and also offers a salad bar in the cafeteria.

Finally, the school’s main number changed this year to 720-424-4910

Thanks for your comment Cynthia! I felt on this recent tour, the school had changed quite a bit since the last time I visited which was a few years ago. You are right, if more people get involved and support the school, the better the school will be. And, I agree, PH is wonderful!

Thanks for an unbiased and thorough review. More and more moms from Park Hill are choosing this school so that it can continue to grow into a distinguished DPS school. It’s already great, but this commitment to our local school will make it even beter in a short amount of time. The PH community is wonderful, so the school is just a microcosm of its people!
